Who inspired you to start your business?

My inspiration for starting my own business is a Danish guy called David Heinemeier Hansson and his company 37Signals (now called Basecamp). I keep returning to Basecamp (their project management system) - because the principles upon which they set up the company shine through in the software. It’s incredibly simple (too simple for some), it makes decisions for you (very little setup) and focuses on what’s important (communication first, everything else is secondary).

So it’s no surprise that I run my programmes on Basecamp too.

You get your own “project”. Every day I message you and give you a task to complete. You then send me your reply. If you get stuck you can message me directly or choose a time to have a call. Once the formal programme is over you automatically get asked for progress reports - and I chase you up, so we know you’re getting results.

And everything we do together is all stored in one place, so you can refer back to it. On a platform I trust, not a data leach like Facebook.

It’s a bit different to how other coaches run their programmes. Maybe it’s not for you. But it’s designed specifically to fit around everything else you’re doing without adding more interruptions.

So who inspired you to start yours? I'd love to hear from you.
