What's holding you back?
The stuff that holds us back isn't always what it first seems.
When software development was my primary business, I always under-charged. Not by a small amount, but by huge amounts. Like a quarter of market rate for someone of my experience.
I tried to raise my rates, I couldn't. I just didn't know how. And this is for a field that I have twenty years experience in. A field where I used to be well-known. Despite this, I had some mental block about raising my rates.
I've given this a lot of thought over the years. And I'm starting to get over it. I might try talking about this more later on (but, as you can probably guess, it's very personal).
Take action: Is there some problem in your business, or your life, that just keeps coming back? That you can't see a way around? Give it some thought. It's probably you.
