Designing your positioning statement

As I mentioned yesterday, your positioning statement is probably the single most important sentence you will write for your business.

But it’s so simple.

It’s built out of three components.

Who do you help?

What do you do for them?

How do you do it?

For Client Robot, my positioning statement is “I help really small businesses run like clockwork by tailoring and implementing systems for them”. Three elements - a target market, the benefits they get from my services and a quick description of how I do it.

A lot of people worry about being so specific - I want to sell to everyone, not just that niche market - but that’s not something you need to worry about, as I’ll explain tomorrow.

Take action: Design the positioning statement for your business from those three elements.
