Risky Business
I wrote an email to a prospect the other day. Elaine (who is amazing by the way), said it was very brave.
I had a meeting with a potential client last week. It went well, and I think they were happy with what I said. I had a reasonably good idea of what I could do to help them achieve their goals. Most importantly, those goals could really boost their business.
But I wrote an email to them yesterday, that basically said "I am going to send you a proposal soon, but in the meantime, I really recommend that you speak to some other companies and get some quotes from them". At another point in the email, I also mentioned that we probably won't be the cheapest.
On the surface, this is a dangerous tactic. But I believe it could reap dividends.
