How to attract and retain interest in a future event? (part two)

So you've got people to hand over their email addresses. The event is six weeks away. You need to stay in touch with them, to remind them that they signed up with you, they expressed an interest in your event and that they really should not make other plans on that day.

All without pissing them off.

Now for a thought experiment.

You're handing out flyers for your event. Out on the street (obviously in pre-pandemic times).

Someone takes a look at the flyer and asks you "so what's all this about then?"

What do you say to them?

And when you say that, what's their next question?

How do you respond to that question?

What do they ask you next? And how do you answer?

How does this back and forth, this question-and-answer session run?

Until eventually they say "you know what, that sounds fantastic, I'll see you there"?

That's your email sequence right there.

Start with their initial question as the subject line to email number one and answer it. Start with the second question as the subject line to email number two and answer it. And so on, until you get to the final email; by which time you've answered all their questions and they can't wait for the event itself.
