The first piece of advice I give anyone about their business is "charge more". Most of us completely undervalue what we do.
We need to reframe what you do.
How much would you pay a copywriter to write some 1000 word blog posts for you? Maybe £100 per post? Maybe more? Maybe less?
Would you pay £5000 for someone to write 5 blog posts for you?
Probably not. Even if they were the most amazing blog posts in the world.
Would you pay £5000 for someone to bring you a £25,000 client on a plate?
Probably. Spend £5000, receive £25,000 seems like a good deal.
What if those 5 blog posts were the thing that persuaded that client to work with you?
See how suddenly, the value of 5 blog posts, has changed. Because the writer is not selling 5 blog posts, they are selling a £25,000 client attraction machine.
Now, questions still arise - how can I be sure that these posts will attract that client, how long will it take for that client to come knocking down my door, what do I need to do to promote the blog posts and so on.
But the principle remains.
Don't sell the deliverables. Sell the outcomes. Because it's the outcomes that people really want to buy.
